Iowa in February - Finding Color in Winter

Technical Part:  I have owned a $30 Canon AE-1 Program Camera for about 8 months now.  It needed a stuck and squeaky shutter repair.  Found online tutorials on how to do both.  Been shooting Velvia 50 slide film with it, with mixed results, due to low dynamic range (I am not sure if I am a fan of slide film).  I wanted to try some color negative film come Fuji HQ 200 - expired, frozen Sam's Club product.  So much for the technical part.

Artsy Part:  I LOVE these photographs.  Filmy looks suits them.  Perfection would be a distraction from the beauty.  Sure, no instant gratification here ....shoot, process, dry, scan, clean, fix ...I don't really care.  Someone once said, if you want to be a photographer you have to fall in love with light.  I am in love with my wife, so not sure about the light ...but, I get the point.  Three of the photographs are the result of what the light is capable of ...they are striking.  Yes, on film ...with a $30 camera.  And they look better to me that way.

I hope you enjoy one or two.
